Challenge 1

Climb Mt Snowdon!

Normally at this time of year we would be travelling back from our Easter Camp in Snowdonia  having climbed Mount Snowdon – Britain’s 2nd highest peak at 1085m.

Over the next week can you climb the equivalent height of Snowdon at home?  [check with parents this could be wearing on the carpet!]

In my house I have 14 steps at 18 cm, so one flight is 2.52m – by my calculations I need to climb my stairs 431 times.

For those of you with extra energy you may be interested to know: Britain’s highest mountain is Ben Nevis at 1345 m, W.Europe’s highest is Mont Blanc at 4810m and Everest is 8848m – how high can you go?! Send us some photos! - Louis

Challenge 5

Severndroog Tarp Challenge!

The weekend of 22nd-25th May was meant to be Group camp. Sadly this will not be happening this year, but it will be replaced by a virtual camp on Saturday night!
Your challenge will be to sleep out in your garden, balcony or inside if you can't stay outside.

This week, you need to source and build your shelter!

If we were on an expedition, we would use our hike tents, however its unlikely you will have access to a tent so you will need to build a tarp!

Tarps are a very versitile form of a shelter and can be put up very quickly and in an infitate number of combinations - Tarpology!

Below is a short film by Louis to give you an idea.

A few more variants can be found on this Alpkit blog post, and other places online too!

Happy tarping!

Challenge 6

Severndroog Covid Art!

Our latest lockdown challenge is all about getting creative and finding art in the new everyday of lockdown life.

Use our hashtag #SesuCovidArt and upload your own creative Covid Art discoveries!

Louis has been busy photographing pandemic-specific litter, signs, rainbows and spring arriving when he's been out shopping and exercising.

We'd never ask you to do something we as leaders wouldn't, so here's some pics of Louis camping under his tarp in his garden!
